Clements Professional Fellows

Clements Professional Fellows are scholars and practitioners affiliated with the Clements Center through teaching, research, mentorship, and public engagement. Their ranks include former senior officials and military officers, UT Austin faculty, scholars at partner institutions, and members of the Center's advisory boards. Professional fellows are appointed in the following categories.

Distinguished National Security Fellows

Distinguished National Security Fellows are the Center's most senior fellows, individuals who have served at the highest levels of government, the military, or the national security profession and who maintain a sustained affiliation with the Center's teaching and programs.

Senior National Security Fellows

Senior National Security Fellows are accomplished practitioners from government, the military, and the private sector who engage regularly with the Center through teaching, mentorship, and participation in its programs.

Faculty Fellows

Faculty Fellows are members of The University of Texas at Austin faculty whose research and teaching align with the Center's mission in history, strategy, and statecraft. They advise students, participate in Center programs, and contribute to its intellectual community.

Nonresident Academic Fellows

Nonresident Academic Fellows are scholars at universities and research institutions across the country who serve on the Center's Academic Board, advising on its scholarly direction and participating in its programs.

Statecraft Fellows

Statecraft Fellows are practitioners who serve on the Center's Statecraft Board, bringing experience from diplomacy, defense, intelligence, and public service to the Center's programs and to the mentorship of its students.

Resident Faculty Fellows

Resident Faculty Fellows are faculty members housed at the Clements Center whose teaching and research advance the Center's work in history, strategy, and statecraft.

Visiting Fellows

Visiting Fellows are scholars, authors, and practitioners who spend a period in residence at the Center, engaging with students and faculty and contributing to the Center's programs while pursuing their own work.

National Security Fellows

National Security Fellows are military and civilian leaders from across the national security community who participate in the Center's programs, engage with students, and contribute practitioner perspective to its work.
