In September, Clements Center Director Will Inboden and incoming Strauss Center Director Bobby Chesney led a team of scholars in a workshop involving a number of senior officials from the National Security Agency at the agency’s headquarters in Ft. Meade, Maryland.

This year, the University of Texas at Austin announced the establishment of the William P. Clements Jr. Center for History, Strategy and Statecraft. The Center honors the legacy of former Texas Governor Bill Clements, who served as Deputy Secretary of Defense from 1973-1977.

The Clements Center is hosting an upcoming lecture series “Strategic Insights from the Ancient World,” to be held during the 2013-14 academic year.

The Clements Center co-sponsored a symposium on Friday, September 6th titled “Troubled Waters: East Asia’s Contemporary Territorial Disputes” in the Avaya Auditorium at UT.

The Clements Center’s Executive Director William Inboden appeared on Good Day Austin to discuss the President’s response to the conflict in Syria.

The Graduate Fellows Program, spearheaded by the Clements Center’s Director of Graduate Studies Mark Lawrence, is designed to support distinguished doctoral students enrolled in the UT history department, government department, and LBJ School.

The Clements Center for History, Strategy, and Statecraft is pleased to announce that it has funded eight UT graduate students to take part in summer internships across the world.
