London Calling: Clements Maymester program begins

The Clements Center’s Maymester program kicked off in London this week. 16 students from a wide range of departments are taking part in the 4-week course that will primarily be taught by faculty in the Department of War Studies at the world-renowned King’s College London.

The impact of Clements Research Grants

The Clements Center recognizes that great research and scholarship often requires great resources. The Center therefore provides grants to UT students and professors who undertake research at presidential libraries and foreign archives, as well as paper presentations at academic conferences.

On May 13, Strauss Center Director Robert Chesney and Intelligence Studies Project Director Steve Slick spoke to the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board about “Separation of Powers and the History of E.O. 12333.” Executive Order 12333 “governs the intelligence efforts of the United States.”

Graduate Fellow receives prestigious Rumsfeld Fellowship

Clements Center Graduate Research Assistant and Fellow Megan Reiss was selected by the Rumsfeld Foundation to receive a fellowship to support her research on presidential decision making and the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty as she works to finish her PhD in Public Policy.

Undergraduate Fellows 2015 Staff Ride

For two centuries, the staff ride has been the most important tool for combining history education with wargaming. Staff rides at the Clements Center employ pre-reading, classroom discussions, on-site tours, and hands-on simulation exercises.
