ISP Director Steve Slick leads analytic simulation exercise for incoming LBJ School students

Aug 04, 2015

Working in groups, students evaluated intelligence reporting on a fictional overseas crisis and prepared intelligence analysis for senior U.S. policymakers. Over the course of the simulation, the intelligence picture changed and students were challenged to explain an increasingly complex tactical situation, to prioritize intelligence collection requirements, and to develop practical options for a U.S. policy response. The exercise concluded with a discussion of CIA’s role in the national security policy-making process and CIA/DA internship programs available to graduate students.
