Laura Esparza

Laura Esparza is the Associate Director, Strategy and Operations of the William P. Clements, Jr. Center for National Security at The University of Texas at Austin. She works closely with senior leadership to align resources with Center priorities and provides strategic oversight of human resources, financial, and operational functions in support of the Center’s long-term success. 

Prior to joining the Center in August 2026, Laura served as Assistant Director of the Latino Research Institute at UT Austin, where she provided leadership across research initiatives, programs, and partnerships while ensuring alignment with the Institute’s strategic priorities. She brings more than 30 years of experience in business and project management, including 15 years in population health research.
