Elizabeth Doughtie

Elizabeth Doughtie is the Assistant Director of Events, Communications, and Development at the Clements Center for National Security. In this role, she provides strategic oversight for the Center’s Events Program, Communications initiatives, and Development efforts. Elizabeth leads the planning and execution of high-profile public programming, including the Center’s Speaker Series, donor engagements, and academic conferences, while also overseeing the Center’s communications and marketing strategy. She plays a key role in shaping the Center’s outreach and advancement strategy to support its mission and long-term growth. Prior to joining the Clements Center, Elizabeth was an Assistant Director in the Development Office at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She previously worked in the political arena as a fundraiser for campaigns ranging from local and state candidates across Texas to serving as the Finance Manager on former Governor Rick Perry’s 2016 presidential campaign. Elizabeth has also worked for former Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and in the Office of the Governor’s Economic Development Division. Elizabeth graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Government and completed the Business Foundations Program at the McCombs School of Business and the Graphic Design Certificate Program at UT-Austin. Elizabeth is a fifth-generation Austinite and is a member of several nonprofit organizations in Austin, including the Junior League of Austin, the Elizabeth Ann Seton Board, the Women’s Symphony League, the Austin Council on Foreign Affairs, Texas Exes and the LBJ Library Future Forum.
