Elizabeth Doughtie

Elizabeth Doughtie is the Assistant Director of Events, Communications, and Development at the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas at Austin. She oversees the planning and execution of the Center’s major events and public programs, which bring senior policymakers, military leaders, intelligence professionals, and scholars to UT Austin. She also leads the Center’s communications and branding efforts and manages its development and alumni engagement programs, building relationships with supporters, alumni, and members of the Center’s broader network.

Prior to joining the Clements Center, Elizabeth worked in development at MD Anderson Cancer Center and held fundraising roles in Texas and national political campaigns, including serving as Finance Manager for Governor Rick Perry’s 2016 presidential campaign. She has also worked for U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and in the Texas Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

A fifth-generation Austinite, Elizabeth is actively involved in the local community and serves on several nonprofit boards and committees, including the Helping Hand Society, the Women’s Symphony League, the Austin Council on Foreign Affairs, Texas Exes and the LBJ Library Future Forum. Elizabeth holds a degree in Government from The University of Texas at Austin, where she also completed the Business Foundations Program at the McCombs School of Business and the Graphic Design Certificate Program.
