Elizabeth Doughtie

Elizabeth Doughtie is the Assistant Director of Events, Communications, and Development at the Clements Center for National Security. She leads the Center’s public programming, communications strategy, and development efforts, overseeing a comprehensive portfolio that supports its academic mission and long-term growth. Elizabeth directs the planning and execution of the Center’s major initiatives, including high-level conferences, distinguished speaker series, and donor engagement events featuring senior policymakers, military leaders, and scholars. She also oversees the Center’s branding, marketing, and digital strategy.
Prior to joining the Center, Elizabeth worked in development at MD Anderson Cancer Center and held fundraising roles in Texas and national political campaigns, including serving as Finance Manager for Governor Rick Perry’s 2016 presidential campaign. She also worked for U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and in the Texas Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
A fifth-generation Austinite, Elizabeth is actively involved in the local community and serves on several nonprofit boards and committees, including the Junior League of Austin, the Elizabeth Ann Seton Board, the Women’s Symphony League, the Austin Council on Foreign Affairs, Texas Exes and the LBJ Library Future Forum. She holds a degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin and has completed the Business Foundations Program at the McCombs School of Business and the Graphic Design Certificate Program at UT-Austin.
