Benjamin Yarckin

Benjamin Yarckin is a third-year Ph.D. student at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. His research examines why the strategies best equipped to secure gains in war so often erode the political will to hold them, turning the conditions for success into large-scale failure. Drawing on cases from Vietnam to Iraq, he traces how employed strategy consumes the domestic support it depends on. Before joining LBJ, he earned his M.A. in International Security from George Mason University.
