Anya Patel

Anya Patel is a rising third-year student at The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in International Relations and Global Studies, minoring in Spanish and International Business, and pursuing a business Spanish certificate, as well as the Clements Center Certificate in International Security. Her academic and professional interests center on national security, human rights, and U.S. foreign policy.

Anya further developed these interests through the Clements Center’s South Korea May Term, where she studied the trilateral relationship between the United States, Republic of Korea, and Japan. Traveling to Seoul, Okinawa, and Hiroshima and visiting sites such as the Korean Demilitarized Zone and Camp Casey strengthened her interest in deterrence, alliance management, and the relationship between history and contemporary security policy.

On campus, Anya serves on the mentorship committee of the International Relations and Global Studies Council. She is also actively involved in Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity, the International Business Student Association, and Alpha Chi Omega. 

Outside the classroom, Anya enjoys staying active through Pilates and going to the gym, as well as attending live music events of all genres.
