Andrew Hightower

Andrew Hightower is a PhD Student in the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin. He is a U.S. Army Goodpaster Scholar and Military Intelligence Officer with combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Andrew most recently served as the Battalion Commander for the 502d Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion, focused on the Indo-Pacific. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Texas A&M University and a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the University of Malaya, as part of the Olmsted Scholar Program.  Andrew has advised Ukraine, Japan, Australia, and other Asian partners on intelligence-related matters and has a passion for operations with allies and partners. His research interest is U.S. intelligence disclosure policy. Specifically, he is interested in the conditions in which the U.S. government publicly releases intelligence.
