The Clements Center offers a range of programs for undergraduate students that address the teaching and research of history, strategy, and statecraft.

  • London Maymester: The U.S., U.K., and World Order: The Clements Center’s Maymester in London, is a partnership with the world-renowned War Studies Department at King’s College London which provides exemplary undergraduate students the opportunity to learn firsthand about the Anglo-American tradition of history and strategic studies. The program is taught at King’s College and includes visits to historic battlefields and other important landmarks in Anglo-American history.
  • Undergraduate Certificate in Security Studies is a transcript-recognized program for students who focus their studies on international and national security affairs.
  • The Undergraduate Fellows Program supports students interested in national security careers through reading groups, meetings with distinguished scholars and policy leaders, and professional mentorship.
  • The Student Professional Development Fund supports students who have secured unpaid internships in fields related to defense and foreign policy. This helps launch students in careers in national security. Click here to view information about internship opportunities.
  • Coffee Hours are biweekly meetings open to all students to discuss topics in national security.
  • Grants in History and Statecraft are awarded to UT students and professors for research and presentations at academic conferences.
  • A Summer Beyond Borders: Exploring Difficult Diplomacy is a fast-paced, educational two-week study abroad program exploring complex diplomatic situations across the globe. Program destinations alternate between Israel & the Palestinian Territories and the Korean Peninsula. Participants will visit significant historical sites; meet with renowned policymakers, scholars, and community pillars; and learn from international security workers.
  • Texas Intelligence Academy offers a competitively-chosen group of UT-System undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about U.S. intelligence through lectures by distinguished scholars and practitioners, moderated discussions, simulation exercises, and visits to intelligence-related sites and facilities in the Washington, D.C. area.
  • The National Security and International Business Minor is a transcript recognized program that educates students to appreciate the enduring relationship between private business and national/international security. The minor will enable graduates to make more informed and more confident business and political decisions in the decades to come.
