Haneen Abdalla

Haneen Abdalla is a rising senior double majoring in International Relations and Sustainability Studies, with minors in Arabic and Philosophy. Her academic research focuses on foreign investment in infrastructure, especially in the context of modern East African development efforts and BRI. Outside the classroom, Haneen serves as the current Finance Chair of the Central Texas Model United Nations and the previous Officer of Logistics, where she helps organize conferences for high school students across Texas. She is also active in Austin’s nonprofit sector, with past and current roles at the conservancy managing Lady Bird Lake’s trail, College Houses’ cooperative living programs, and most recently as a development intern for the Texas Book Festival. After graduation, Haneen plans to pursue a master’s degree in International Development, hoping to join the foreign service as an economic officer. She is excited to be a part of the Clement’s Center and learn more about how economic aid can promote national security.
