Drew Wessels
Drew is a rising fourth-year student at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a triple major in Economics, International Relations, and Middle Eastern Studies, alongside minors in International Business and National Security Studies. He spent the fall 2024 semester in Tunis, Tunisia, working with an NGO and taking intensive Arabic courses. Drew has also participated in Clements Center and National Security-focused study trips to Israel-Palestine, the U.K., Korea, and Singapore.
On campus, Drew is an undergraduate fellow with the Clements Center, a Brumley NextGen scholar, and a member of the Texas 4000 charity bike team, riding from Texas to Alaska. He has also contributed to research with the Global Disinformation Lab and the Innovations for Peace and Development Lab, and previously led the International Security Track committee for the International Relations Council. In the summer of 2025, Drew will attend both the Texas Intelligence Academy and the Cambridge Security Initiative intelligence fellowships to deepen his understanding of the intersection between intelligence and national security.
After graduation, Drew plans to pursue a dual Master’s degree in Political Economy and Law, ultimately aiming for a career in public service or international political economy, whether within the intelligence community, civil service, think tank space, or private sector.
