Michael Leff

Michael Leff is a doctoral student in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in the Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East (ANE). His research interests encompass ANE law and ethics, diplomatic and strategic history, and the intersection of material culture and textual data. Leff’s research on diplomacy in the Bronze and Iron Ages focuses on great power competition, sovereignty, and territorial expansionism.
