Lieutenant Colonel Stacy Rostorfer

LTC Stacy Rostorfer has served in the Army and Texas Army National Guard for over 21 years after commissioning from the Virginia Military Institute in 2004.  LTC Rostorfer attended Initial Entry Rotary Wing training at Fort Rucker, AL and received his Aviator Wings in December of 2005. LTC Rostorfer completed Captains Career Course in 2009. He received his Master of Science Degree in Organizational Development and Leadership from University of the Incarnate Word in 2017 and graduated from the Army Command and General Staff College in May of 2018.

LTC Rostorfer’s first assignment was Platoon Leader in D, 1-130th ARB in Raleigh, NC prior to attending flight school. He interstate transferred to the Texas Army National Guard in December of 2005 and was assigned as a Platoon Leader in B Co, 1-149th ARB Wolfpack. After attending the AH-64A qualification course, He deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08 to Balad Air Base, Iraq from AUG 2006 to JUL 2007. LTC Rostorfer was assessed Active Guard Reserve (AGR) in 2008 as an Assistant Operations Officer with the 36th CAB while continuing to serve as an Assistant Operations Officer in the 1-149th ARB until taking Command of B Co, 1-149th ARB Wolfpack in 2010.

Upon assuming Company Command, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom OEF-13 to Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan in 2013. After returning from deployment, LTC Rostorfer was assigned as the 36th CAB 2IC and Assistant Operations Officer until 2015 when he was reassigned as the Officer In Charge (OIC) of the 449th ASB. He attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS from June of 2017 until July of 2018.

LTC Rostorfer returned to the 1-149th ARB as the Executive Officer in 2018 until late 2019 when he was assigned as the 36th CAB Operations Officer and Brigade OIC and later served 36th CAB Executive Officer in late 2019. In December of 2021, LTC Rostorfer assumed Command of the 1-149th Attack Battalion and relinquished command in November of 2023. He served as the Texas Military Department’s TMDx Innovation Officer from November of 2023 until June of 2025. LTC Rostorfer is currently an Army War College Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin.

His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award),  Air Medal with Valor (2nd Award) and Air Medal (3rd Award), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, NATO Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Combat Action Badge, and Master Aviator Badge. LTC Rostorfer has flown over 2000 hours and is qualified in the TH-67 Creek, OH-58A/C Kiowa, AH-64A Apache, AH-64D Longbow, and the LUH-72 Lakota.

LTC Rostorfer is the son of Steven and Susan Rostorfer from Dublin, OH. He lives in Buda, Texas with his beautiful wife Avi, his two daughters Harper Jane and Collins Kate, and their dog Mac.
