Geneva Cline
Geneva was fortunate to have a formal introduction to the Clements Center by taking part in the 10th Anniversary London May Term on the US–UK Transatlantic Alliance. This honor impacted her on many different levels. While in London, she met and spoke with experts from across the security complex, connected with incredible people, and visited places she had only ever dreamed of seeing. Everywhere she went, she found herself reflecting on the women of past generations who would never have had the opportunity to stand where she stood. She remains deeply grateful for the experience.
Outside of the classroom, Geneva has continued her interests in sewing, HAM radio, languages, and more. Over the past two years, she has worked at the Texas Civil Justice League, producing research and several publications. This summer, she was invited to serve as a guest costumer for a theatre company, an honor she does not take lightly. She also anticipates earning her HAM radio Extra Class Certification before mid-September, enabling her to administer the General Class exam. Geneva has continued her Braille practice and Spanish studies, resumed teaching music and voice to children, and recently decided to take up the violin.
This upcoming semester, she will return to London to study at University College London. She looks forward to all that lies ahead with pride and the confidence gained from the past year. For her, it is the twists and turns of a journey that make it worthy of a story, and she hopes to have a story worth telling.
