Derek Sutter

Derek Sutter is a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs. His research interests include biotechnology, population policy, and state security strategy — and how these topics intersect. He earned a BA in International Studies from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Global Affairs and Policy from Yonsei University. Following his master’s program, Derek served in the U.S. Army as a military intelligence officer. He enjoys studying foreign languages and walking through woodland.
