Colonel Christopher J. Masson
Colonel Chris Masson is a native of Mercer, PA, and was commissioned through ROTC at Gannon University in Erie, PA, in May 2000 as a Transportation Corps (TC) second lieutenant. Chris has 25 years of commissioned service in both the US Army Reserves and Regular Army. He has a BS in Management from Gannon University and a MS in Management from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL.
Colonel Masson most recently served as the commander for 6th Battalion, 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), Ft Benning, Georgia. 1st SFAB is regionally aligned to support the United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR). Prior to commanding in 1st SFAB, Chris commanded Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy Americas East (AME) in Houston, TX. COL Masson’s military education includes the TC Basic Officers Leaders Course (BOLC); the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course (CLC3); resident Command and General Staff College (CGSC), Fort Leavenworth, KS; and Joint Combined Warfighter School (JCWS) in Norfolk, VA.
Chris is married to the former Brandi Henry from Chesterfield, VA; they have two daughters, Kaitlynn (18yrs) and Kara (16yrs). After the AWC Fellowship Chris will command Red River Army Depot (RRAD) in New Boston, TX from the summer of 2026 to the summer of 2028.
