Charles Drummond
Charles R. Drummond, IV is an Associate at McKinsey & Company. He was previously a 2014–2015 Predoctoral Fellow at the Clements Center for National Security.
Charles’ scholarly interests focus on the history of political and legal thought, and he is currently preparing a monograph on the development of the “right to keep and bear arms” in Britain and early America. Prior to that, he was a Director at Partner Forces LLC. and served as a senior fellow in the United States Senate for Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska. He was the Garwood Postdoctoral Research Associate at the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. In addition to his work in academia and government, Drummond has worked in the private equity sector in London, in the national security sector in Washington, D.C., and for British and American NGOs.
Charles is a native of Plymouth, Michigan. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Harvard University, and he holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in history from the University of Cambridge, U.K.
