The Rise of ISIS and the Way Ahead in the War on Terror

The Clements Center and the Alexander Hamilton Society are honored to host Peter Mansoor, Professor of Military History at Ohio State University and Former Executive Officer to General David Petraeus. Dr. Mansoor will speak on the rise of ISIS and the way ahead in the war against Islamist terror groups at the Texas Governors’ Room (UNB 3.116) on Wednesday, February 8th, at 12:15pm. This event is free and open to the public.

Internship Information Session

On January 25th, the Clements Center will host an Internship Information Session at the Texas Governor’s Room (UNB 3.116) from 12-1pm. Clements Center staff will be on hand to provide tips and strategies for applying to summer internships in the fields of national security, foreign policy, and intelligence. Fellow UT students will also talk about their experiences with the application process, internship programs, and financial resources. A light lunch will be provided.

The Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas at Austin in association with the Strauss Center for International Security and Law, the Department of History and the Department of Government, the LBJ School of Public Affairs, and the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University, hosted a 3-day conference titled “Ronald Reagan and the Transformation of Global Politics in the 1980s” from January 19th to 21st, 2017.
