The Clements Center welcomed author Mark Bowden to speak on his new book Hue 1968: A Turning Point of the American War in Vietnam (Atlantic 2017). Mark Bowden is the author of thirteen books, including the #1 New York Times bestseller Black Hawk Down. He was joined in discussion by UT Professor of History Mark Lawrence and LBJ Professor of Ethical Leadership Howard Prince, who is a veteran of the Vietnam War and fought in the Battle of Hue. This event was co-sponsored by the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Student Veterans Association.

Prof. Suri is the Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Global Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, teaching in both the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the College of Liberal Arts History Department. This event was co-hosted by the Strauss Center and co-sponsored by the LBJ School and History Department.
