Maliabo Diamba

Maliabo Abbygaël Diamba is a rising senior studying International Relations and Global Studies with a minor in Cultural Anthropology and Business Spanish certificate at The University of Texas at Austin. She serves as Editor In Chief of SPARK Magazine, the university’s preeminent student editorial fashion publication. Maliabo previously served as Diversity Chair for UT Austin’s International Relations and Global Studies Council, executing events from cultural celebrations to the hosting of an Israeli-American Diplomat guest speaker. In 2022, she participated in the United States Military Academy’s Student Conference on U.S. Affairs (SCUSA), where she collaborated on a policy proposal for the U.S. government concerning the future of the international order amid the rise of revisionist powers. Maliabo’s passion for multiculturalism started at home where she founded her high school’s first International Club, showcasing various countries’ customs and cuisines to the student body. Her interests revolve around the impact of proper representation and cross-cultural exchange in shaping mutually beneficial foreign policy initiatives.With an identity spanning three continents—the Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, and the United States—Maliabo is proof of the power of opportunity and wanderlust in creating global citizens, and plans to pursue a career within the U.S. Department of State.
