Camila Alatorre

Camila Alatorre is a rising sophomore majoring in Economics and working towards the Elements of Computing Certificate through the Liberal Arts Honors program. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Camila now resides in Houston, Texas. Her academic interests center around economics and international relations, specifically focusing on economic development strategies, foreign investment, and international trade laws. On the Forty Acres, Camila conducts economics research through the Salem Center’s Policy Research Lab and the Innovations for Peace and Development Lab. Her research with the Salem Center focuses on comparing the consumer and corporate payoffs from digital companies’ advertisement models while her research with the Innovations for Peace and Development Lab revolves around the US-China trade war’s corporate action. In her free time, Camila enjoys traveling, cooking, and discovering new Austin restaurants. She is honored to be a part of this year’s cohort of undergraduate fellows and is excited to learn more about international security methods.
