On Thursday, February 15, the Clements-Strauss Intelligence Studies Project welcomed University Distinguished Scholar and former CIA Director John O. Brennan for a panel on public service leadership with Admiral Bobby Inman, Chancellor William McRaven and the Honorable Julian Castro.

On Monday, February 12th , the Clements Center hosted a professional development workshop on ‘How to Get an Internship.’ We convened a panel of experienced professionals to provide tips and strategies to students for applying to summer internships in the fields of national security, international relations, and foreign policy. 

The Clements Center hosted Michael Green on Thursday, February 8th for a talk on the topic of “The North Korea Crisis and American Grand Strategy in Asia.” Dr. Green is the former Senior Director for Asia at the National Security Council. 

On Tuesday, February 6, 2018, the Intelligence Studies Project, Clements Center, and Strauss Center hosted Robert Cardillo, Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, who delivered remarks on the U.S. intelligence community, its recent history and future challenges.   

The Clements Center hosted Ionut Popescu on Tuesday, January 30th, for a talk on his new book Emergent Strategy and Grand Strategy: How American Presidents Succeed in Foreign Policy. Ionut is a former Clements Center Postdoctoral Fellow and currently is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Texas State University. 

The Clements Centered hosted Max Boot for a talk on his new book The Road Not Taken: Edward Lansdale and the American Tragedy in Vietnam. Mr. Boot is the Jeane J. Kirkpatrick Senior Fellow for National Security Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations.
