The Journal of Strategic Studies published an article by Professor Inboden that constructs a taxonomy of the various ways that national security policy-makers attempt to use history. It identifies four types of history: experience, memory, tradition, and study.

The Clements Center, in partnership with King’s College London, convened its first conference in early-November at the University of Texas at Austin.  Participants from all over the U.S. and U.K. attended the event titled “Diplomacy, Alliances and War: Anglo-American Perspectives on History and Strategy in the September 11th Era.”
