In his latest Shadow Government post, Executive Director William Inboden discusses President Obama’s Asia trip in the broader context of America’s global alliances and the Pacific pivot.

In April, the Clements Center partnered with the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia for a major policy exercise on security challenges in SouthEast Asia.  Over 350 military officers and civilian policymakers participated in the two week simulation, titled “Exercise Nine Innings.”

UT’s Longhorn Network featured the Clements Center on their “Campus Minute” broadcast on April 17th. The Center made headlines the previous day when it welcomed U.S. Senator Marco Rubio to the Blanton Museum Auditorium.

The University of Texas and the Clements Center for History, Strategy & Statecraft welcomed U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) to UT on April 15th. The Senator talked about America’s role in the world and sat down with Clements Center Executive Director William Inboden for Q&A.

From April 3-4, the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law and the William P. Clements Jr. Center for History, Strategy & Statecraft hosted a public conference exploring the legal, policy, and technological environments in which the NSA operations.

In his article titled “Afghanistan’s Coming Coup?”, Associate Director Paul D. Miller states “The military isn’t too weak, it’s too strong.”

The Clements Center is seeking applications for its Undergraduate Fellows Programs. The due date has been extended to Tuesday, April 22nd!

It is with heavy hearts that we learned the news that Ambassador Robert S. Strauss has passed away. William Inboden, Clements Center Executive Director and Distinguished Scholar at the Strauss Center, said: “With the death of Ambassador Strauss, we have lost a great Longhorn, a great Texan, and a great American.”
