Sir Lawrence Freedman cites Associate Director Paul D. Miller’s arguments about historical analogies

In his article, Dr. Miller argues that the analogies used for the war in Afghanistan were “historically unsound and strategically unhelpful,” establishing the  situation for insurgency that policymakers aimed to prevent.
