Walter Russell Mead is the James Clarke Chace Professor of Foreign Affairs and Humanities at Bard College and Editor-at-Large of The American Interest. He is the Henry A. Kissinger senior fellow for U.S. foreign policy at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
Mead writes regularly on international affairs for the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and others, and serves as a regular reviewer of books for Foreign Affairs, and is author of God and Gold: Britain, America and the Making of the Modern World, and Special Providence: American Foreign Policy and How It Changed The World.
Responding to Mead will be Dr. Will Inboden, Executive Director of the Clements Center for History, Strategy and Statecraft at the University of Texas-Austin. He also serves as Associate Professor at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and Distinguished Scholar at the Robert. S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law.
