Convening
- During the fall and spring semesters, the Clements Center hosts a variety of campus talks by scholars and national security policymakers. The Center has been honored to host sitting and former Cabinet members and Ambassadors and several Pulitzer Prize-winning authors.
- Campus Talks and Distinguished Lectures: The Clements Center continues to host high-profile events featuring prominent leaders. Notable visits include Secretary Antony Blinken and former Vice President Mike Pence, who engaged with the UT community on pressing national security issues.
- Special Events: The Center regularly organizes seminars, panel discussions, and conferences that tackle current national security challenges, often in collaboration with other leading institutions. In 2024, we convened with the Atlantic Council, NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and the Consulate General of Canada to the United States to host a conference commemorating the 75th anniversary of NATO founding. In 2023, we teamed up with the Public Interest Declassification Board (PIDB) and the LBJ Presidential Library for a conference on the critical need for modernization of the federal system for classification and declassification.
