This summer, the Clements Center funded eight students: two graduate students and six undergraduate students.<\/p>\n

Here’s Amanda Long’s story:<\/p>\n

Amanda Long is a rising senior pursuing a B.A. in International Relations and Liberal<\/div>\n
Arts Honors with a minor in European Studies and<\/div>\n
International Security. This<\/div>\n
summer she has the privilege of interning with the Independent Task Force<\/div>\n
Program at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in Washington, DC. As one of the<\/div>\n
Council\u2019s trademark initiatives, the Independent Task Force Program pr<\/div>\n
oduces<\/div>\n
comprehensive policy proposals designed to address a particularly pertinent foreign<\/div>\n
policy question. Under the supervision of resident scholars, Amanda is currently<\/div>\n
conducting research on CFR\u2019s upcoming Task Force on American leadership in<\/div>\n
technolog<\/div>\n
y and innovation. To support this r<\/div>\n
esearch, she composes weekly int<\/div>\n
ernal<\/div>\n
forecast memorandum on Congressional hearings related to tech, Chinese<\/div>\n
competition, and the gig economy and drafts news briefs pertaining to the research<\/div>\n
probe. Amanda hopes that this<\/div>\n
internship will lead to a future career in policy<\/div>\n
research and analysis.<\/div>\n
