Their article, which is a response to a Foreign Affairs article calling on policymakers to reexamine US drone policy, argues that “drone pilots are deeply engaged in their missions, including with emotional and physiological responses.” Overall, they find that “the article reflects stereotypes about American service members flying unmanned platforms that are unjustified and hurt the mission.”
