This spring we are hosting two workshops, as part of our series on professional development: 

• Workshop on “How to Get an Internship:” On February 12th, the Clements Center will host a professional development workshop on ‘How to Get an Internship’ at time and location TBD. We will convene a panel of experienced professionals to provide tips and strategies to students for applying to summer internships in the fields of national security, international relations, and foreign policy. Fellow UT students will also talk about their experiences with the application process, internship programs, and financial resources. This workshop will be held on February 12th at 4:30pm in CLA 1.302B. Please check our website for forthcoming details. 
• Workshop on “How to Write a Competitive Application:” On March 27th please join us for a professional development workshop designed to improve students’ ability to write and apply for competitive internships, fellowships, and jobs. Led by Clements Predoctoral Fellow and Oxford University doctoral candidate Jon Askonas, this workshop will help students develop tools to improve their writing, establish a compelling narrative, and clearly communicate goals. This workshop will be held on March 27th at 12:30pm in CLA 1.302B. Please check our website for forthcoming details.

• Internship and Fellowship Database: With over 150 internship opportunities listed in one place, the Clements Center’s database can be used as a resource for opportunities in the fields of Foreign Policy, Human Rights, International Development, Economics, and Intelligence. We have also added information about Congressional internships, Fellowships, and Young Professionals Opportunities. 
• Student Professional Development Fund: The Clements Center awards up to $5,000 in funding to undergraduate and graduate students who secure unpaid internships in the fields of national security, international relations, or intelligence. Past recipients have interned with the U.S. Department of State, Center for Strategic and International Studies, the United Nations, the Institute for the Study of War, and the American Enterprise Institute. Applications due April 20th. More information about the application process can be found on our website.
