CC Associate Director Paul D. Miller wrote about nuclear deterrence and coercive diplomacy for a recent Elephants in the Room piece

Dr. Miller writes, "Trump is drawing on a long tradition against appeasement and in favor of coercive or armed diplomacy." He continues, arguing that there are advantages to the Trump administration's strategy regarding North Korea. Dr. Miller draws historical comparisons, citing President Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
