Talking with reporter Michael Gerson, Prof. Inboden “in best professorial fashion” argues that America’s strengths lie in its values. “If we were to abandon our values in our foreign policy, we would be unilaterally disarming ourselves and giving up one of our unique assets.” Pointing to history as a lesson, Prof. Inboden recalls that “most of the signature successes of American foreign policy have come when our power and values acted in concert, which also furthered our national interests.”
