Nicholas Stenseng
Nicholas Stenseng received his Master of Global Policy Studies degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2024. His research focuses on the intersection of emerging technology and national security with attention to capabilities and military strategy.
Nicholas is a proud alumnus of the Clements Center, completing the Graduate Portfolio in Security Studies, in addition to attending countless speaker events and book talks hosted by the Center. The past academic year, Nicholas served as the co-head of the Clements Center Strategy Club and Team, where he led workshops on creating and implementing strategic frameworks for national security challenges. In April, they went on to compete at the 3rd Annual Army War College Strategy Competition in Carlisle, PA. After three days of competition, Nicholas and his team briefed a strategic framework for coordinating a NATO response to the War in Ukraine to a panel of military professionals and academics. Ultimately, they clinched first place, the first civilian team to ever win the competition! Nicholas credits the team’s successful performance to the support of the Clements Center, its wonderful staff, former military fellow Lieutenant Commander Breanna Strand, and Associate Director Paul Edgar.
Nicholas recently relocated to Washington, D.C. where he is completing his internship with Sandia National Laboratories and looking for further opportunities to support the development of U.S. national security strategy.
