In the article, Captain Archuleta discusses his life in the military and when he returned to civilian life in 2010. Like many of his peers, Captain Archuleta missed the responsibility that came with commanding soldiers during war. Upon returning home, he was offered a teaching position at West Point and is actively pursuing a degree in public affairs at the LBJ School with financial assistance from the Army. “Such a positive option was not the experience of all of my contemporaries,” Captain Archuleta said.
