Mark Lawrence reviews book on 1968 Battle of Hue

He writes, “Bowden deserves enormous credit for calling new attention to an often-overlooked battle and especially for recovering the experiences of those who fought amid otherworldly horrors. Many more books about the Tet Offensive will roll off the presses in the coming months as the 50th anniversaries of the assault and the US-led counterattack approach. It’s hard to imagine that any of them will surpass Bowden’s in sheer drama and readability.”
