Steele Brand is Associate Professor of History at The King’s College in New York City where he teaches courses on Western Civilization and ancient history. Brand’s research explores how agrarian, constitutional ideals engendered civic virtue and civic militarism throughout Western Civilization, from ancient Israel to classical Greece and Rome and from Anglo-Saxon England to the United States. Brand received his Ph.D. from Baylor University, his M.A. from seminary, and his B.A. from Texas A&M-College Station. He has led field studies and battleground tours at historic sites for military commanders, parishioners, and students.

Steele was a 2013–2015 Postdoctoral Fellow and Director of Undergraduate Fellows at the Clements Center for National Security. He also previously served as an intelligence officer in the United States Army.
