Clements summer policy intern Caitlin Goodrich at the [br]U.S. State Department in Manama, Bahrain[/br]

As a State Department intern in Manama, Bahrain, I worked in the political/economic section of the Embassy. I got to write cables, meet with Bahraini legislators and business people, represent the U.S. at social gatherings during Ramadan and participate in Embassy social life. The internship was an excellent reflection of my dual MPAff/MBA degree program; I got to work on everything from countering violent extremism to labor law throughout the course of the summer. The photo shows that I also spent a bunch of time in the Manama Souq (market), getting lost in alleyways and shopping for souvenirs!
